Manufacturing stainless steel involves efficient technology and equipment to carry out several steps like melting, casting, rolling, forming, and machining efficiently.

Melting & Casting

In this process, the raw materials containing stainless steel are melted together in a giant electric furnace. The whole process is very tedious and needs rigorous intense heat continuously for about 8-12 hours. After the completion of melting, the molten stainless steel is processed further for casting in the desired semi-finished forms like rectangles, slabs, billets, rods, etc. The whole process needs due care and all the necessary safety gadgets to handle the high temperatures.

Forming

Then it would be ready for the next stage i.e a series of forming operations. For example, stainless steel is rolled by passing through rolls. Or the billets are converted into bars, and wires.
